RESISTANCE is the fruition of all the turmoil against campus press repression; paltry recognition for those working under the fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics; offensive stereotypes against science high school students; and the lack of effort in making the country ready for genuine scientific progress and industrialization.
We welcome contributions from writers and graphic artists from all walks of life. We are especially interested in new and underrepresented voices that provide unique and refreshing perspectives pertinent to the state of science high schools, science education, science, and our nation and world at large.
We accept news, investigative reports, opinion articles, feature stories, photo essays, and graphic outputs.
Copyright will remain to the author/s upon publications. Once you submit, you agree that first serial rights are granted to us. We do accept concurrent submissions: Just provide more information if the submitted content were accepted somewhere else first.
RESISTANCE is established by young writers and is completely run by volunteers. That said, we cannot pay nor charge for publication. Still, works of selected contributors will be featured in our website and different social media handles.
In the event of digital publication, we will provide a complimentary copy in digital form (.pdf).
Guidelines
Send all submissions by filling up this form. Other details are indicated there. Email us at resistance.shs@gmail.com should you have any questions or concerns.
We accept submissions mainly in English and Filipino. We also accept submissions in other languages as long as the author provides an English or Filipino translation.
After submission, the evaluators will determine if your work is rejected or accepted. We may request for revisions and also provide critiques.
News, Investigative Reports, Feature Stories, and Photo Essays
Said outputs can be long-form or serialized. All content shall be ready for publication, otherwise we will not be accepting such submission/s.
Upload the article in .docx or .doc format. Other instructions about document formatting are indicated in the submission form.
Accompanying photos must be uploaded separately in .png or .jpg format. Only upload a compressed archive (.rar/.zip) if there are two or more photos. Make sure the photos keep its original resolution, size, and metadata, otherwise we will not accept your entry.
Graphic Outputs
For digital outputs, send in .psd format with all layers intact. Dimensions must be at least 3600 by 3600 pixels, with a resolution of 200 pixels per inch.
For traditional outputs, send in .png format. Dimensions depend on the artist, but must have a resolution of 200 pixels per inch.
